Life Of Pi - The MOVIE

Today being a Friday, me and Nishok planned a perfect movie date. It turned out to be the best date movie. The movie was about a boy and his extraordinary journey. I was actually late home. The movie was by 9.30 PM and I reached home by 9.15 PM from work. Soon me and Nishok rode to the cinema. On the way to the theatre, I muched out the 3 lovely chappatis rolled in with onion chutney. Nishok is a lovely person who never keeps me hungry or want of anything. Hedoes more than what I need. One such desire of mine was to watch Life of Pi.
The movie was a 3D one at FAME. The effects were extraordinary. From the beginning till the end the movie kept me stick to it. I was very thrilled to hear people speaking Tamil here and there. After the ship wreck, the story is taken to a different level. The absolute entertainment piece of the film is when the tiger makes it to the boat and it re entry in the boat. The whole audience was thrown to the back of their seats to see tiger jump on the hyena. The orangkuttan was really sweet. The scenes where Pi changes his name to 'pissin' to 'Pi' really showed the attitude of the boy. He thanked the tiger for saving his life. One may wonder when he tells that. He then said that he was made vigil only by the tiger hence he was alive for a long time. At the end he says another disgusting story to the people from that japanese ship company when yhey didnt believe his actual story. Then the listener says that the story with tiger was better when compared to the second one. Pi replied that even God thought that way. Those lines were touching.
Totally an awesome movie. It is a must watch. If u r with a tiger for sometime u can hide from it or fear about it. When is living together with a tiger, you needvyo tame it. God has given that talent to you. Life of Pi is absolutely an adventure with beautiful yet dreadful incidents filled with much needed lessons!

Having a Bucket List.

Bucket List is the list of things one wishes to do before he/she kicks the bucket.

I am planning to make a list of things I wish to do before my end of life. I have got 2 or 3 items to the lists so far. So I will be posting a Bucket list here very soon

I dont want all small things to the list. I want the item which needs my courage, commitment and confidence to complete it.

Let me keep thinking and add reasonable list. Writing this in my blog will really induce me to make such a good list.

For silly yet worthy things to do in life I have 101 things in 1001 days also in parallel.

Let me start and want each and everyone who reads this also to start making a Bucket list because life is worth living. These things make us feel we have had a satisfised life.

Cheers!

Fire Alarm

Today as usual, I reached office by 8 am and started working on the tasks I had to do. After an hour and a half, emergency alarm broke the silence for the first time. No one was bothered as we were used to false alarms or boring fire drills.

The alarm started again and again. I started developing doubt. Drills happen only around afternoon and false alarms can happen once or twice. So I just went one floor down. i. e to  second floor of the building. I saw men running here and there. I didnt panic but stopped one among them to ask him what had happened.

He replied me saying a Server cable burned, hence the alarm. I ran back to my place alerted my project mates to rush down.

By the time we reached down, most of them were evacuated from the building. We were all safe. WE were made to go away from the building. After few minutes, volunteers were carrying hose pipes, water cans and rush to the second floor when fire was fast spreading to third floor. (I was working in this floor)

An ambulance came rushing to the spot. Two to three fire engines rushed to the spot. Soon we were able to see smokes through terrace. Smoke filled the building. News spread to media and was flashed on NDTV and SUN TV. Soon my family and friends started calling me to check if I am ok.

We were asked to leave home as Network through out the building was out. After a long struggle I came home. Had no money. One of my project guy helped me with 100 bugs. Damn my hand bag was stuck in the third floor. I munched a sandwich and came home tired.

Thanks to all who were helping us to evacuate the building and to those who fought with fire and smoke. Hats off.

PS : Don't ignore emergency alarms. This is for our precious life. Money doesnt matter. Life is more important.

A Filmy Day Out

Last week , myself and hubby planned to call an off. We didn't have much of "our" time /Date in recent times, hence the decision. We had few household works and started of our footloose ride round the city.

A small aqaurium near the mall

As usual, we went to Gangotree to have creamy yummy strawberry milkshake. Then we went to Abirami Mall. This was the first time we went there. It was a small mall when compared to EA , Spencers and PVR. It was crowdy too. We decided to watch a movie named "Muran". We had a nice time together and enjoyed each scene together.

Then we came down to have some thing to eat as we didnt pack our lunch. We chose Chennai Noodle House. There were varaities of food outlets. But we chose Chennai Noodle House.

I ordered Chilli Garlic Noodle along with Gobi Manchurian. After placing the order, my hubby rushed to our table with two small papers in hand and gave to me. "OMG" Those were tickets to a movie called "Vedi". I was suprised. He said let be together for another 4 hours. We rarely get such happy long hours together alone. We loved those moments and want more time together.

Food was awesome. I love the combination we ordered and rushed to the screen which played "Vedi" . Though movie was an average flick, we thoroughly enjoyed the movie and each other making fun of the movie, munching pop corns.

I really admired the artwork done over the ceiling wall. Arty and classy. I felt screens were good but the stairs, lift , path to each floor are narrow and are prone to accidents. This should be considered by the management.

We were already tired but wanted to go a big ride. So from Purasivakkam we went to TNagar and then to our home. Long, speedy, cool bike ride.

We enjoyed. Thank you N for such a lovely date. Love you N.

Turtles!

On an afternoon , when I entered the cafeteria of my office ,there was a huge rush in a stall like setup. I was not able to figure out what is the stall for. I moved past the crowd and stod in the queue to collect my bill for lunch.

Meanwhile , I noticed a large screen showcasing the popular event called " Turtle Walk" . It was all about how they go in search of turtle eggs , preserve them and hatch them and return them back to the sea. It was wonderful but I was wondering how big the egg would be!

I had a HSB North Indian Thalli . Lunch time is always a fun time for me. I have my lunch with my whole team. I enjoy lunch each day with my team. Fun! We fought for sweet as usual. Lunch was over.

By the time, the crowd in the so called stall was moderate. I peeked into the crowd and to my surprise , the stall had a rectangular glass tank with tiny tiny turtles which were around 20 to 30 days . The stall was to let us know how the turtle should be handled, how it behaves when we have it in our hand.

I hand all the turtles in my hand and adored their color , softness  and naughtiness. Lovely turtles. We took photos of ours with turtles and had a temparory tattoo of a turtle in Red colour. I even got a ticket for ocean jumping etc. But was not interested as that was tsunami time in Japan.

I enjoyed that afternoon. Here are the pictures of turtle with  myself.

Cute rite.???!!

Lets support a cause.
Lets Turtle Walk.

Coffee or Cup ? - A Beautiful message

I found this forwarded mail and wanted to share in my blog. Good one.

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups.

Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."

Don't let the cups drive you... Enjoy the coffee instead!

#3 :Watch a sunrise at least once a year

I have read a book which instructs you to enjoy your life to the fullest. So following them.
==================================================
Contribution by my husband on our trip to beach:

After busy schedules and a hectic week with mechanical life waiting for the weekend to take rest to face the coming week aheard. In between a humble request from my wife saying it was long time we spend time with nature and I would like to see the sun rise tomorrow morning. At that moment, the time was nearly half passed eleven. Night went with plesent sleep and no dreams but, there is a small thought " wake up in the morning" to give surprise to wife saying "Nature call : I am ready for sun rise". Yes the thought in mind is very powerful and disturbed me. Unexpectedly power was cut in the early morning and a whisper in my ears saying "did you get chance to think about what I told you yesterday"; "I would like to see the sunrise in the morning". Slowly I, opened my eye's and asked what is the time and she told me that it was already early morning and time was 4.45 AM. It was midnight for me but slowly woke up and said "ok, Let start we are going to give surprise to SUN. My spouse still did not able to accept and there was a padimonium suituation between dream and reality. She was not able to realise "today we are going to see the nature and sun rise and start the day with blessings of god(nature)."

We have started at 5.30 AM and the bike ride in the early morning was too good with no traffic. Yes it looked like a different day. Imagin, madras with no sound pollution and traffic jam. My speed slowly rised to 60 KM and their was one more surprise that I found was an alternate straight route to city center which is on the way to beach. I realise that in the fast moving life, how many beautiful things are there and we don't have time to even enjoy the love and affection of nature.

Overall it was a splendid experience which cannot be expressed in words. Thanks for my wife to start my day with cool breeze, moderate weather, close hug and small chit chat while driving which made me feel good and believed that there is someone who wants to change my life and bring blossoms.
