DIY : Valentines Day Love Tokens

This weekend was simply a learning. I learn few beautiful DIY ideas from Pinterest and few other websites.

The DIY Ideas were awesome and that too for Valentines Day. These gifts may be silly and simple. If I gift these to my love, he will truly appreciate my creativeness and encourge me in constructive learning.

My hubby is the most important person in my life.. Learning some simple stuff and showing my love towards him even in these tiny gifts makes me happy.

I learnt to make hearts. I learnt to make hearts just by joining papers and also the Origami style heart.. Also learnt Heart Bookmarks! The website from which i learnt Origami is Origami Club!!

Activity 100 : New Work Building

This is my new work building alloted for a week. This is a temporary work place until my usual buiding is ready after that 'fire accident'. This buiding has 9 floors. After 6 pm, the block is beautifully lit with white lights. This view is from the 6th floor of the building.

Fire Alarm

Today as usual, I reached office by 8 am and started working on the tasks I had to do. After an hour and a half, emergency alarm broke the silence for the first time. No one was bothered as we were used to false alarms or boring fire drills.

The alarm started again and again. I started developing doubt. Drills happen only around afternoon and false alarms can happen once or twice. So I just went one floor down. i. e to  second floor of the building. I saw men running here and there. I didnt panic but stopped one among them to ask him what had happened.

He replied me saying a Server cable burned, hence the alarm. I ran back to my place alerted my project mates to rush down.

By the time we reached down, most of them were evacuated from the building. We were all safe. WE were made to go away from the building. After few minutes, volunteers were carrying hose pipes, water cans and rush to the second floor when fire was fast spreading to third floor. (I was working in this floor)

An ambulance came rushing to the spot. Two to three fire engines rushed to the spot. Soon we were able to see smokes through terrace. Smoke filled the building. News spread to media and was flashed on NDTV and SUN TV. Soon my family and friends started calling me to check if I am ok.

We were asked to leave home as Network through out the building was out. After a long struggle I came home. Had no money. One of my project guy helped me with 100 bugs. Damn my hand bag was stuck in the third floor. I munched a sandwich and came home tired.

Thanks to all who were helping us to evacuate the building and to those who fought with fire and smoke. Hats off.

PS : Don't ignore emergency alarms. This is for our precious life. Money doesnt matter. Life is more important.

Flooded Chennai

Last two days' rain has made Chennai a flooded city. No roads are visible. Differentiation on shallow area, ditches, speed breakers were all filled with water. Muddy roads are more prone to accidents too.
Last week a bike rider skidded and got ran over by a bus. Witnessing such thing made me capture few picutres of the city and showcase it on my blog.

Proper arranged are required to clear water off the road. We people should make a change. Else infections, accidents , sufferings will rule us

Gollu 2011 : Photographic Post

This year, I made a good arrangement for Gollu. I applied for a day off and did all the arrangement myself. After completeing a small but neat Gollu, I felt satisfied and happy. I invited all my close relatives and friends.

Everyone I called came to visit our Gollu. Mr. N gave a good company. My creativity nerve  also contributed a bit to this event this year. I made Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva out of colourful clay blocks. I was thrilled.

Most important thing which made me happy is my parents made it from Thanjavur to visit my small gollu. I was excited to the core.

A Filmy Day Out

Last week , myself and hubby planned to call an off. We didn't have much of "our" time /Date in recent times, hence the decision. We had few household works and started of our footloose ride round the city.

As usual, we went to Gangotree to have creamy yummy strawberry milkshake. Then we went to Abirami Mall. This was the first time we went there. It was a small mall when compared to EA , Spencers and PVR. It was crowdy too. We decided to watch a movie named "Muran". We had a nice time together and enjoyed each scene together.

Then we came down to have some thing to eat as we didnt pack our lunch. We chose Chennai Noodle House. There were varaities of food outlets. But we chose Chennai Noodle House.

I ordered Chilli Garlic Noodle along with Gobi Manchurian. After placing the order, my hubby rushed to our table with two small papers in hand and gave to me. "OMG" Those were tickets to a movie called "Vedi". I was suprised. He said let be together for another 4 hours. We rarely get such happy long hours together alone. We loved those moments and want more time together.

Food was awesome. I love the combination we ordered and rushed to the screen which played "Vedi" . Though movie was an average flick, we thoroughly enjoyed the movie and each other making fun of the movie, munching pop corns.

I really admired the artwork done over the ceiling wall. Arty and classy. I felt screens were good but the stairs,lift , path to each floor are narrow and are prone to accidents. This should be considered by the management.

We were already tired but wanted to go a big ride. So from Purasivakkam we went to TNagar and then to our home. Long,speedy,cool bike ride.

We enjoyed. Thank you N for such a lovely date. Love you N.

Activity 100 :Heart's Reflection

Day Zero .. Navarathiri Special

Navarathiri is a very grand , authentic , colourful festival which signifies the importance of woman in a family /society.

Three Goddess are being worshipped in all the 9 days of Navarathri festival.

Nava means Nine. These nine days are split into 3 parts and each 3 days are dedicated to each Goddess.

We worship

Durga(Parvathi) - Goddess of braveness and boldness ;

Lakshmi - Goddess of wealth

Saraswathi - Goddess of arts , intellect.

During the Day Zero, Construction of steps to arrange dolls (Gollu) and decorations are being done.

Arrangement of dolls are done.

All these nine days, we cook different sundals ( rich in protein).

We invite friends and family to visit our Gollu.

We dress up in traditional wear or ethinic one.

Music fills our house.. Good music..

Exchange of gifts are being done.

Love this festival ....
