Project 365 : Masala

I am crazy for the Masala powders which are available readily in packets. I always refill the Masala container whenever I run out of them. On one such occassion , after a heavy masala shopping spree, I shot this picture.

I am a vegeterain but love the aroma of these powders.

Krish's Perfect French Fries

Guys in our family love cooking. My dad is the best chef I have ever seen. Seems his genes are perfectly working in my brother .The other day, Krish notified that he is going to make some French Fries. He also assured that it would be a perfect French Fries.

By that evening, I helped him peel off and cut the potatoes. The potatoes were marinated for few minutes. (Professional terms). Then he made a powder of salt and peppers. He fried all the potatoes, Squeezed out the oil out of them gently and cooked it again in Microwave. French Fries turned out to be perfect.

We enjoyed Krish's Perfect French Fries and he being in Kitchen! =)

Love, Life and all that Jazz.. : Book Review

I was really very excited in getting this book. I was eager in making a review of this book too. Here is my hands-on book review. First of few facts about the book. This book is written by Ahmed Faiyaz. He is an young and vibrant author I should say. This is actually a very good start for his writing interest.

The cover page of this book is simple and cute. The back page has few cartoons illustrating few incidents mentioned in the book. The idea was Ok.

About the characters, there are four main characters namely Sameer, Tania, Vicky and Tanveer. The gang is friends from the college and their friendship is strong. The book revolves around these four characters. So the main intension of the book was in exposing the kind of bonding between the four, their career and their love interest. In simple the way of lives of the four. The characters were well described. Kudos to the author!

The book is divided into more of less five parts like Change, Togetherness, falling apart , another life, etc. Each part has quotes and lines which well describes the section fully. Even each chapter has quotes. I loved few quotes like...

“Life is what happens to you while you re busy making other plans."

"In dreams begins responsibility"

The language is simple. The character descriptions are very good. This made me think of a person I have met in my life for each character. I was very much attracted to Tania, Sameer and Vicky to the most.

One thing I would disagree is that, all the four had the same phase in each part of their life. Like if the chapter name is change, all the four had few changes in their life. If the section is Falling apart, all the four had break ups. Else I love the story and definitely a page turner.

This book can make a hit among youngsters. Simple and stylish way of telling the story I can say. This book was addictive and I didn’t put it down. The love story between Sameer and Tania which had ups and heart breaking break up. I was depressed while reading their break up; Tanis wedding with Ankur and Sameer and Simone togetherness. Vicky is all flirtatious, charming and attractive.

Hence I could say,” Love, Life and all the jazz ..“is full of love, flirt, break ups, taking life as it comes, friendships, bonding. In my opinion, this book is all about the younger generation’s attitude towards love and life. I even wondered something was missing in each relationships mentioned in this book. That minus fact is not about the author; it is all because of this generation’s change in mindset on love and career.

I learnt few lesson for having a great relationship from this book. They are

1. Respect your partner as you expect yourself to be respected.

2. Being connected is all makes a relationship live.

3. Give space to each other; Respect and encourage your partner's dreams and goals.

4. Never doubt your partner on silly things.

5. Value your love more than anything in your life.

This is a must read book I could say. Well Done Ahmed Faiyaz.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is a special day for most of us. From my teenage, I used to have thoughts, dreams and fascination on love. I wanted gifts from a man who loves me and lives for me on this day. I am a kind of girl who doesn't believe in group of guys following a girl is envious. I won't agree that the girl is lucky.

I wanted a guy who would be compatible with me and my thoughts all through my life. I wanted that one man to be my crush, love, husband, soul mate, patner in crime and my everything. I wanted him to hug and blow a kiss on Valentine's day and gift something (not a costly one)with  so much love. Wow! I dreamt of it. I  begged God to give me a partner who is kind, loving and caring.

My Prayers are answered. This man called me in the morning and Wished me "Darling Happy Valentines Day" and asked me to check my mail box. I saw a greeting with beautiful lines for me.

" By miles, you are far away from me.

By Thoughts, you are close to me.

By hearts, you are in me"

Whatte a beautiful greeting ! I was moved. I feel blessed and gifted. This is a very spl Valentine's Day for me! =)

Nanban : A Filmy Review

This Friday, my mom and dad celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. We planned for a movie night. My brother wanted to take us to Nanban. It was a very close to heart moment when all your loved ones are spending time for some super fun together.

We went to the theatres 10 minutes after the movie started. We were bit disappointed. But the movie was really entertaining. I loved this version of the 3 idiots. Vijay was an opt choice. After a long time, Srikanth has been given a very good character.

Few scenes were very entertaining, like Srivatsan's speech, Vijays attempt to motivate Jiiva's recovery, etc.

Vijay's names in this movie we re unique. Panchavan Paarivandan and Kosakzi Pasapuzhal !! I loved Jiiva's spontaneous answer for "How does an induction motor starts"

Illeana and Anu has done a cute job. Vijay was charming. I am not a big fan of Vijay but I liked his performance in this movie. Satya raj was similar to our Dean in my college.

My dad and mom enjoyed their wedding anniversary being with us and spent our evening with this movie date.

Nanban is worth seeing and better than Hindi version. Music and cinematography were good. Madhan Karky has done a fantabulous job...

En nanban pola yaaaru machaan!

Having a Bucket List.

Bucket List is the list of things one wishes to do before he/she kicks the bucket.

I am planning to make a list of things I wish to do before my end of life. I have got 2 or 3 items to the lists so far. So I will be posting a Bucket list here very soon

I dont want all small things to the list. I want the item which needs my courage, commitment and confidence to complete it.

Let me keep thinking and add reasonable list. Writing this in my blog will really induce me to make such a good list.

For silly yet worthy things to do in life I have 101 things in 1001 days also in parallel.

Let me start and want each and everyone who reads this also to start making a Bucket list because life is worth living. These things make us feel we have had a satisfised life.

Cheers!
